"Tornado warning sirens went off here in Vicksburg (MS). Turned on WLBT and there was Paul Williams and his crew. I was amazed to see that the weather can be reported down to the street. And I just followed the news with Paul for the rest of the day. It was impressive to me to see the guy, up, at that time of the morning when he's been tracking this storm for a while. And that was pretty impressive."
"We got up and heard the sirens. Channel 3 saved our lives. I went to look outside - it's always the first thing I do. I put the TV on, Channel 3, and he says here in the area of Manville Road, Piperflake, and Fairfield, you need to take cover. We huddled up over the kids and we just began to pray to be honest with you. You can hear the tree forest begin to snap and pop like toothpicks. You hear glass break. It didn't really last, but couldn't have been 5 or 6 seconds, and it was gone. And we made it. We walked outside and couldn't believe the devastation we saw. Channel 3 saved our lives."
"The weatherman said the tornado should be in Madison (MS) about 5:20. I got up and went to my kitchen and looked at the clock. It said 5:17. That's when we heard all of the popping and the cracking and the roaring…I've been given a second chance at life with my family."
"The information was there...clear and complete."
"Excellent storm coverage."
"We appreciate that you update us to keep us safe."
"…at 7:10 you came on with a weather update stating a severe thunderstorm would hit at 7:13. At 7:13 the storm hit … we are impressed."
"That morning I got up with my puppy and had the TV on, if Mr. Watts had not been on the TV telling us to get up and get ready to go outside, to take cover we would not-not have done it. By the time we got our children in the bathroom and the door shut, is when we heard it come. We're just thankful that our neighbors are safe because of him and I want to thank him, because of him we were able to get in cover, in time."
